1 month 2 days
Having survived our first month with three kids. 3 1/2 yrs, 1 1/4 yrs, and 4wks. I now have a new parenting plan. It is called Alive. Currently my whole approach to parenting is captured in that word. Keep them alive. Here is a few pictures of Lizzy and the boys.

Easter Egg Hunt then Baskets
Haircuts
The boys were looking like hairbears so I decided to take them to the barber. Well you need two week reservations to get in to have your hair cut. So not wanting to make another visit to bambi. Who is Bambi? No not the cute little disney deer. Bambi is a stylist (that is me being gracious) that works at Cost Cutters here at Walmart. She has made a name for herself here in Sparta.
Last time Jacob got his hair cut it was from Bambi. Wow, she must be blind. I thought I would never see a hair cut that was that bad. Enter my brother. The same day Jacob visited Bambi my brother decided to try out Cost Cutters. How bad was it. I started laughing when he walked in the door.
"What the crap happened to your hair?" I laughed.
"Bambi got it", was his smart reply.
That sent us into fit of laughter since we were just talking about how we had never seen such a bad hair cut on Jacob. But Mark clearly recieved the worst bum end of the deal.
So I asked around where to get the boys a haircut and I recieved one response...DO NOT GO TO BAMBI... I asked three people and they all gave me the same response. So if you want a hair cut in Sparta there is only one real rule: NO BAMBI.
So being that it is two days before Easter I took things
in my own hands. I decided that I couldn't do worse than bambi and cut the boys hair. I will let you decide how it turned out.
Levi looks like a girl with a short bob style hair cut. I had to give him a trim on the sides. So shove some candy in his mouth and start the clippers. It looks a lot better now.

Jessica and Baby

and now there were THREE
Yep, thats right three. The clan is a little bigger. Jessica and baby came home Sunday night. Baby and mom are doing very well. Here are a few pics over the past week. For a little less fuzzy picture you can go HERE...Sue Williamson took a better picture.

She has a bunch of hair. I have never seen that much hair on any new born. It is crazy.

Meredith, Jessica's sister flew up from Texas to spend some time with the kids.

The rest of Jessica'a family came up on Sunday to celebrate bringing home Hannah. Josh read while Levi used him as a jungle gym. Gloria is staying for a week to help us out with the kids.

Jacob enjoyed putting on uncle Gabes helmet. Even though it was a little heavy at times. It was a pretty busy weekend when all was said and done.

The Other Two
Since I posted a few pictures of Hannah I thought I should drop everyone a few pictures of the other two.
Jacob has many different jobs at the house. Lately he has been helping dad finish off the room in the basement. He has been a big help with his big boy tools.

When he is not fixing something he is swash buckling the open seas. The "green sword" pirate looks a little more scary. The "barely asleep jammy" pirate looks alittle too friendly.

Playing in their new camping room has also been a favorite pastime for the other two.

Last week we had temperature in the 70's and 80's all week long. We couldn't keep them inside. A new tire swing was a big hit and being able to run around with no shirt on also topped the fun charts. Levi loves being outside.

Uno, Dos...Tres!
On Oct. 9th, 2003 we had numero uno. On December 27th, 2005 we had numero dos. And, with a due date of April 1st, 2007 numero tres will be here. Luckily, I have the ability to kind of pick the date I now have my kids on being that I will have a scheduled c-section. So, I will of course not put my kid through the utter ridicule that would accompany someone with an "April Fools" birthday. We are of course hoping for a little female broberg. We'll see.

Superman likes juice, not water
Well, first of all I'd like to say sorry for taking so long getting back to blogger world. Things have finally settled down here a little. I found myself getting on the internet lately and checking everybody else's blog and decided it was time to write something myself. Jacob had his third birthday this last monday. We had "just" family over for the big event. But, for those of you who know how much family we now have living near us, you know that meant 10 kids, 2 sets of grandparents, and another six adults. Plus, sue and the kids stopped over. So, we had a good crew here. My son has a passion for anything trains or planes, so that was the theme for our party. One of his favorite gifts was his superman outfit. He has been playing superman a lot lately and so I have spent good chunks of entire days clothespinning a hand towel around his neck to make a cape. The other morning he was in his superman outfit and asked for something to drink. I said "okay, jacob, what do you want?" He turned and looked at me as if I had just called him some strange name that he had never heard before. There was a couple seconds of silence and then the reply. "It's superman." I said, "do you want some water superman?" and the reply again, "Superman likes juice, not water." I had to laugh at that one.

Here he is with great bed head and his new thomas the train jammies.

The kids taking turns whacking the thomas the train pinata.

The train cake that jakers requested. I am humbled by my frosting and cake decorating abilities.

Puddles
It seems to me that the very word "puddles" is reminiscent with childhood memories. Of little boys discovering their love for getting dirty, of embarking on an adventure all their own. I have two boys now and I think I am beginning to realize and embrace that unique aspect of them. They have such an innate desire to explore, to discover, to conquer. They are teaching me to squelch the desire to think ahead to the time and energy involved in cleaning up these "adventures" but rather, to focus on the joy and fun of being "in the puddle" right now.
